The book continues as Winston and Julia continue their covert affair, they rent a room in the second floor of a shop, this continues until Winston gets a message from O'Brien, a leader in the Party. When the three meet it is proven that O'Brien hates the party, just like Winston and Julia. O'Brien initiates Winston into the brotherhood and gives Winston a copy of the manifesto of the book originally written by the leader of the brotherhood  Emmanuel Goldstein. When reading the book one night in the room Julia and Winston are stormed in on by the thought police and it is revealed that the shop keeper has been a though agent the entire time.

1984 George Orwell

I thought that this book was really good, it was published in the fifties so 1984 was supposed to be in the future. Are view on what futuristic and what his ware is one of the cool things in the story. The plot is basically Winston Smith is beginning to notice the negative parts about Big Brother, they all powerful military/government. And from there he begins to try and over throw the government. There weren't a lot of other main characters in my opinion, but I felt that the book really didn't need to have other really developed characters, as Smith was good enough.

There was a little mature content and a little language but I feel that anyone is our class could read this book and enjoy it as much as I did.

Apollo XIII by Jeffrey Kruger and James Lovell

This book is about the 13th Apollo mission or third moon mision NASA had ever done. The book takes you through James life at NASA and his other space experience's. about a quarter of the way in a disaster happens and the the three astronauts have to find a way to solve this problem using what they can find in their tiny tin can, 200,000 miles a way from home.

I am loving this book, I am halfway through and the characters are really vivid and because James Lovell wrote it, it felt more real. For example, the cockpit of the rocket was so detailed and how everything felt in space, and also just like talking and the way people acted was just so on point. There is a little language, however there is not "adult" things going on. It is a hard book to read, though, with all of the scientific stuff and sometimes unneeded bits. I thought this is a great nonfiction adventure book.

PS they all die.
